STCW stands for the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers.

The STCW 2010 Basic Safety Training Course is to enable the student to be certified for the STCW 2010 Basic Safety Training, which is required by law for working on a superyacht.

Galileo is directly accredited by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) of the Department of Transport of the United Kingdom to issue MCA Certificates.

Elementary First Aid (EFA) Module

Price: 6,500 THB

This module is a mixture of theory and practical sessions offering essential knowledge on how to respond to the most common emergencies on board including burns and scalds, broken bones, bleeding and shock, as well as learning CPR, different bandaging methods, how to move a patient and how to improvise when there is no equipment available.

Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FPFF)

This module deals with the necessary precautions to minimise the risk of fires aboard ship. It examines how fires are caused and the first means of extinguishing them. The course includes practical training in the use of fire-fighting equipment and the use of breathing apparatus for fire fighting and rescue.

Personal Survival Techniques (PST)

Price: 11,000 THB

This module provides knowledge of essential prevention and survival techniques, including theory and practice sessions, investigating causes of distress, knowledge and use of equipment, launch and recovery of life rafts, preparation for survival, personal survival skills and use of search and rescue organizations. Exercises are carefully supervised and can be undertaken by non-swimmers

Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)

This classroom-based module provides basic induction training in safety procedures and accident prevention, familiarizing novice crew with employment and working conditions onboard.

Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA)

Price: 5,500 THB

This module is for crew who do not have designated security duties, but must still be aware of key security issues, such as: threats to the maritime transport industry, maritime security definitions, security roles and responsibilities, company and ship security requirements, security threat levels and security measures and procedures.
STCW 2010 Refresher (UFPFF & UPST)

Duration: 1 & 1/2 Days

The STCW 2010 Basic Safety Training Refresher (STCW-R) Course, offered over 1½ days, is mandatory to be taken every five years for all seafarers who have already undergone the complete STCW 2010 Basic Safety Training Course.

The Refresher Course meets the requirements of the STCW familiarisation and basic safety training update in accordance with section A-VI/1 of the STCW code.
