The IYT Small Powerboat and RIB Master Course is a prestigious training program that is
recognized by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). The course is designed for
individuals who want to become proficient in handling small powerboats and rigid
inflatable boats (RIBs) for personal or professional use.
Upon successful completion of the course, students are awarded the IYT Small
Powerboat and RIB Master Certificate, which is recognized internationally. This
certificate not only opens doors to various employment opportunities, but it also
enhances the credibility and professionalism of the holder.
Obtaining the IYT Small Powerboat & RIB Master license also qualifies you for the issue
of an ICC 10-meter Power Certificate which will allow you to charter personal water craft
and powerboats in Europe. There is however an additional fee of 2,200 THB required.
Course Outline:
This three-day course covers one day of theory and two days of practical boat handling
including:
– Safety at sea
– VHF Radio operations
– Small powerboats and rigid inflatable boats
– Launching and recovery
– Anchors and anchoring
– Nautical terminology
– Boat handling under power
– Man overboard procedures
– Ropes and rope-work
– Basic rules of the road (collision regulations)
– Glossary of terms
