About Anthony
Anthony has a distinguished career history as CEO and President of international public listed companies across the UK, USA, Asia, and Australia, including transportation, shipping and cargo handling companies. In early 2014 he acquired a substantial holding in Galileo Maritime Academy and has been responsible for the company’s expansion and development as a world class maritime academy. An experienced trans-ocean yachtsman and navigator, Anthony was the Chairman of the Cruising Association (UK) and a long standing member of The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. He has owned several sailing and power yachts and has been a regular contributor to maritime publications.

Captain Clive Parton

About Clive
Clive Parton is an MCA Master Mariner Unlimited with 26 years’ command experience of cruise ships, large yachts, merchant and offshore vessels. He worked for 12 years with Scottish Ship Management, from cadet to chief officer, on commercial vessels after which he was appointed Master of STS Sir Winston Churchill, a three-mast topsail schooner. Clive was a private pilot with instrument, multi-engine and Jump Pilot ratings and a British Parachute Association Pilot Examiner. He was a formation skydiving coach and former display team member with 1200+ descents.

Meet Parvati Huo (Sine)

About Sine
Parvati (nickname Sine) graduated from Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus with a Bachelor of Business Administration International Program. Prior to joining Galileo Maritime Academy, she was an entrepreneur managing her own businesses for 5 years and working as administrator for the Thai Yachting Business Association and her family accountancy business.

Napakkamon Taechad (Wanwan)

About Napakkamon
Napakkamon (nickname Wanwan) graduated from Prince of Songkla University (HatYai) with a Bachelor of Accounting (1st Honors). Prior to joining Galileo in 2017, she was Stock Consulting at Maybank Kim Eng Securities Thailand for 3 years.

Meet Tom Sebastian

About Tom
Tom is a familiar face in the academy, having been with Galileo for the past 7 years as the Chief Instructor for Fire, Safety & Survival courses. Tom is an experienced educator and his experiences on board commercial and cruise ships fueled his interest to redefine learning for seafarers. Tom has completed his BSc Management degree and is an IMO certified instructor.

Meet Shemaine Sebastian

About Shemaine
Shemaine joined Galileo, with her husband Tom, in our early days in 2014. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Nursing in the Philippines and has spent most of her medical training and teaching career overseas. She is an experienced seafarer, as Safety Officer on cruise ships, with a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality, medical and crew welfare. She is an IMO certified instructor for medical and safety courses.

About Phomphitchaya
Laddawan (nickname Ning)
graduated from Phuket Rajabhat University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy. She joined Galileo in 2017 after working as an Account Executive at Premium Thai Brands Company, Phuket for four years.

Meet Garrod Hutchison
The Galileo Team
About Garrod
Garrod joined the Royal Navy in 1981 and during his 12-year naval engineering career he served on HM Warships Fearless, Intrepid and Bristol. In 1985 he was selected for service as an engineer on the Royal Yacht Britannia. In 1989 he qualified as a Technical Training Instructor and served with the Naval Apprentice Training Staff, part of the Royal Naval School of Marine Engineering at HMS Sultan. Garrod served as Chief Engineer on a number of Superyachts and, prior to joining Galileo, he was Fleet Chief Engineer for Imperial Pacific, managing the maintenance and operation of a fleet of Superyachts.

Meet John Adams

About John
John is an MCA Y3 Chief Engineer with 30 years of marine engineering experience on a long list of vessels and superyachts. He has worked at Galileo since 2018 as an MCA approved instructor and assessor for our engineering courses. John has a wide range of expertise across marine engineering systems and skills and is an experienced watchkeeper.

Meet William (Bill) Croly

About Bill
Bill joined the Royal Navy at the age of fifteen, he served on a variety of ships including three Guided Missile Destroyers, two Aircraft Carriers and a Survey Ship. He completed twenty four years’ service working his way through the rank structure. On leaving the RN Bill was employed as an Engineer with the Commonwealth Development Corporation. In 2005 Bill became the Chief Engineer of M/Y Ecstasea, the Royal Van Lent 86 Meter, 34,000 kilowatt gas turbine and diesel powered luxury yacht and served on her for 12 years. Bill holds a Merchant Navy Class One Chief Engineer CoC Motor and a Class Two CoC Combined Steam and Motor. He is an MCA approved examination assessor.

Meet Alberto Garcia

About Alberto
Alberto hails from Medellin, Columbia and is a professional RYA/MCA yachtmaster 200 tons. He has skippered and maintained several large yachts, cruising over 40,000 nautical miles, and he is also an experienced SCUBA dive instructor. Alberto has been instructing our deckhand courses for several years and is one of our fire-fighting course assessors.

Meet Paul Fear
The Galileo Team
About Paul
Paul has been in the fire-fighting industry for 27 years as an instructor and manager of the marine fire training division of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. He is an experienced shipwright and worked in Her Majesty’s Naval Base on vessels ranging from small clinker built yachts to nuclear submarines. Paul spent fourteen years based at the Plymouth Fire Station which is located close to H M Naval Base where he attended numerous major marine fire incidents.
