Anthony H Gould AFNI FRGS

Anthony has a distinguished career history as CEO and President of international public listed companies across the UK, USA, Asia, and Australia, including transportation, shipping and cargo handling companies. In early 2014 he acquired a substantial holding in Galileo Maritime Academy and has been responsible for the company’s expansion and development as a world class maritime academy. An experienced trans-ocean yachtsman and navigator, Anthony was the Chairman of the Cruising Association (UK) and a long standing member of The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. He has owned several sailing and power yachts and has been a regular contributor to maritime publications.

WILLIAM (BILL) O’LEARY
 
William (Bill) O’Leary
Bill is a multi-ticketed professional mariner who arrived in Thailand in 1987 as crew on the famous racer-cruiser “Stormvogel”. He joined Amanresorts at Amanpuri as founder of Amancruises, a major Asian superyacht charter operation. Over a 21 year period he managed more than 60 vessels and trained their crew. He founded pioneering boat building and marine maintenance operations in Phuket and is currently working with the Malaysian Government’s Sovereign Fund, Khazanah Nasional, where he plans and develops luxury yachting facilities, marinas and integrated tourism projects for Johor Bahru and Langkawi. Billo’ is a Thai citizen with his permanent home in Phuket. He is the co-author of The Southeast Asia Pilot.

HAMISH MACPHERSON
 
Hamish Macpherson
Hamish served as a British Petroleum executive in various countries before joining Bank of Butterfield in Bermuda and then Hong Kong, where he specialized in Trusts and Fiduciary Services. He is currently Chairman of Wyvern International, an investment advisory group and served as consultant to several banks in Asia. He manages a private equity portfolio of investments in over 20 international business ventures, including mineral resources in frontier markets in Africa. Hamish holds a BSc degree (Kent) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

MICHAEL (MIKE) SIMPSON
 
Michael (Mike) Simpson
Mike Simpson is a pioneer of Asia’s yachting industry and has played a leading role in the growth of the yachting lifestyle across the region over the last 36 years. Mike founded Simpson Marine in 1984 in Hong Kong and the company has grown into the leading new yacht sales, brokerage, charter, and service company in the region with 11 offices across seven countries and a dedicated team of over 120 professional staff. Mike’s mission is to introduce new sailors to yachting and share his passion for the sea. When relaxing Mike can be found sailing ‘Freedom’ his Beneteau Oceania 46.1 sailing yacht with friends around Hong Kong’s many islands or flying his historic wartime “Harvard” fighter trainer in the skies over southern England.

TIMOTHY (TIM) O'LEARY
 
Timothy (Tim) O’Leary
Tim is an investment professional based in Bangkok. He is a co-founding Director of several businesses in Thailand and is the Founder and Managing Director of an M&A Advisory company – Láidir Capital. He worked as an investment analyst at Navis Capital Partners, a prestigious APAC Private Equity firm for over four years. He is a Director at Sterling Capital, sourcing international deals and strategic financing solutions for a broad range of clients. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an Entrepreneurship emphasis and a Leadership Studies Minor, for which he was the valedictorian of his graduating class, from Chapman University in Southern California.

KANLAYA GOULD
 
Kanlaya Gould
Kanlaya studied law at Ramkhamhaeng University and assists with Galileo’s legal affairs. As a qualified beautician and stylist, she is a consultant instructor at Galileo for courses involving personal presentation and grooming.
